James has decided to try recreational skijoring. Having known about it for years and
done a fair amount of cross-country skiing it only seemed natural to try. Literally speaking,
skijoring translates from Norwegian as "ski driving" but it is more commonly described as a
winter sport that combines cross-country skiing with dog mushing. Since the dogs love
winter so much we were looking for something to do with them during the winter months up here.
Harnesses were bought and training begun. They've yet to make it out of the yard
but everyone seems to be having a good time.
Here are some of our first training photos, remembering that we are neither professional
skijorers or dog trainers. We're all learning as we go!
