Shenandoah's Back to the Future, Trinka — named for her grandmother Windsong's Katrinka D' Shiloh — gave birth to her third and what was to be her final litter on February 14, 2004 in Western, PA. Two little girls rounded out by seven boys, a mixture of pudgy sables and duals started to enter this world about 5:30 pm on Valentine's Day. Proud papa Kota — NS rbCH B&T's Ment To Be of Ridgewood, ROM, CGC, TDI, TT; a Lobo Grandson and a Rebel son — celebrated with an ecstatic grandma in Eastern, PA.

The Litter Evaluation — Going Over The Wall

Click on image to close picture.
Although I watched the litter grow from afar, I hadn't planned on getting a puppy. I liked the pairing but I felt the timing in my life wasn't quite right. However, eight weeks later I found myself driving to Western, PA to attend the Litter Evaluation to meet the breeders and dogs in preparation for an upcoming litter. As fate would have it, one little puppy tested exactly as I would have wanted and was just what I was looking for. However, since I had passed on the litter, I had to wait until the final picks were made before I knew if Little Light Blue Boy and myself were meant to be. By the end of the day, I learned he was mine if I wanted him and my little Hamish came to be.

It was a wonderful experience, and one which has solidified my relationship with many of the littermates families to this day. Several of us keep in touch as our puppies, now adults, grow — and it has made the shiloh experience just all that more special.
