About Ontario Beach Park
One of the most heavily-used parks in Monroe County, Ontario Beach Park attracts thousands of visitors annually. This 39-acre park contains one of the Great Lakes' best natural sand beaches. Having grown up not too far from Ontario Beach Park, I welcomed the chance to return and take a stroll with Hamish. Ontario Beach Park is located in the northwest quadrant of the city of Rochester, NY on the shores of Lake Ontario.
Although dogs are not allowed on the beach or near the water, we were able to a leisurely stroll with a view of the picturesque pier. We also saw the 1905 Dentzel menagerie carousel, I wish I could have seen it at it's heyday, when it was the Coney Island of CNY. I must say that they have put a lot of work back into that area, it was a nice surprise to see the updates as I'd not been there for several years.
